Since 1991 Arcanum Development have created numerous paper and electronic publications. We boast of having produced publications that were based on documents originated in the pre-electronic publishing era. These projects result electronic data that are the same as the original source documents both visually and in content.
Migration and conversion of data, enhancement, improvement and quality assurance of data are performed routinely when we work on assignments for creation of paper and electronic publications.
From 1992 we published a number of substantially different CD-ROM product series. In our work on the WIPO Handbook CD, after improving and enhancing the low quality source data we create a simple facsimile re-production, which is the searchable electronic copy of the original paper documents in PDF.
When data is more structured, as in the case of legal documents, we create CD-ROMs with a search-retrieval engine developed by our team. The CD-ROM contains the documents in close-to original layout, adding hyperlinking, searching and various browsing options - such as the hierarchical view of the laws, which allows easy navigation to the desired chapter or article.
We also create CD-ROMs with record-oriented data and with images. We raised the number of features added to the retrieval software of the most structured data we have published, to our IPC:CLASS CD-ROM product, which contains the text of the International Patent Classification in more editions in more languages: for example, one can jump between the editions and language versions, notes of a certain entry, one can browse glossaries and concordance lists of the classification and jump to the respective classification entry.
In case of our NiViLo CD-ROM, which contains the Nice, Vienna and Locarno classifications, we provided the PDF versions, the search-retrieval engine and the static HTML presentation of the same data on the same CD-ROM.
We create web publications as well. So far we have created thousands of static web pages of the above-mentioned patent and trademark classifications and legal texts. We are proud of our high fidelity reproduction of documents in HTML.
